Dance Teacher Code of Conduct

All teachers are expected to conduct themselves in a professional, respectful, and responsible manner that reflects the values and reputation of Revolution Dance.

1.     Professionalism & Respect

Treat all dancers, parents, teachers, staff, and the Director with respect, kindness, and professionalism.

Maintain appropriate professional boundaries with dancers and families.

 

Do not participate in gossip, rumors, criticism, or negative discussions about dancers, parents, teachers, staff, or studio decisions.

Concerns or disagreements regarding the studio, staff, policies, or decisions must be brought directly to the Director.

2. Communication

All communication with dancers and parents must take place through studio-approved communication channels, including the Band App and studio email.

Teachers may not participate in private group chats created for a selected group of dancers or parents.

Any Band App group or studio communication group must include the Director.

Direct communication outside approved studio channels is limited to Solo and Duet rehearsal scheduling or genuine emergency situations.

Teachers must not share confidential, internal, or staff-related information with dancers or parents.

3. Confidentiality

* Teachers must maintain confidentiality regarding:

* Staff matters and disagreements

* Studio policies and internal decisions

* Dancer or family information

* Staff compensation or contracts

* Private conversations involving the Director, staff, dancers, or families

4. Boundaries & Social Media

* Teachers must maintain appropriate professional boundaries with dancers both in person and online.

* Teachers should not create private social media groups, messaging groups, or other communication channels with selected dancers or parents.

* Teachers must not use social media or private communication to discuss or criticize Revolution Dance, its staff, policies, or decisions.

* Teachers are not permitted to post, share, or distribute photos or videos taken within Revolution Dance studio facilities, including photos or videos of dancers, classes, rehearsals, or studio activities, on personal social media accounts or other personal platforms

5. Dancer Safety & Well-Bing

* Dancer safety, emotional well-being, and appropriate supervision must remain a priority.

* Teachers must follow all Revolution Dance safety policies and procedures.

* Teachers are responsible for creating an inclusive, respectful, and supportive classroom environment where every dancer feels seen and valued.

6. Compliance

Failure to follow this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of the teacher’s contract.

Teachers are expected to ask the Director if they are unsure whether communication, relationship, or situation is appropriate rather than making assumptions.
